Intro
Welcome to the official website for Wavestorm, a versatile battle engine for mIRC. Further information about the game can be found using the links to the left.
Updates
- Musings - September 14, 2006 - 11:50 PM EST
- Design work for Wavestorm 2 is steamrolling; Neo and PC0 have come up with a lot of good ideas. The largest changes to the game are the fact that it will actually be an MORPG. There will be a full world to explore, a grid dialog that shows a miniature map, and added distance variable in attacks as a result of location. There will also be a real class system with weapons and shields (armor) and a lot of other stuff. No longer will this be just a "fight your friends" script.
- I'm calling it an MORPG because the normal adventure mode will only allow you to group with 9 other people max, so calling it an MMORPG would probably be misleading. Of course, the "no limit" PVP modes from the original will still be here as well, so if you want to get into a massive free for all with 50 people like in the old game, you'll still be able to.
- A tentative devdoc with all our current ideas is available here if you would like to read up on it. It's a big file to read, but it's worth it.
- Webpage - September 12, 2006 - 9:05 PM EST
- Changed the location of the official IRC channel to Rizon instead of Espernet
- Reworded the Story section a bit, added the intro paragraph above, and added the list of status effects to the Glossary page. Also fixed up minor typos across the site.
- Script 0.943 - September 10, 2006 - 2:35 AM EST
- Fixed/modified a bunch of minor things.
- Weapons now offer increased/decreased dodge, attack power, and turn speed depending on weapon weight.
- A tiny right-click subsection for the game has returned in the normal channel menu, and right-clicking in the custom window will automatically bring the Datascope back up if it was accidentally closed.
- You can no longer receive EXP if you killed yourself, although why you'd want to kill yourself is beyond me.
- Buff spells cast by others in Melee Mode work again.
- The Datascope and Op Dialog boxes now properly disappear when you click into other windows, and properly reappear when you click back.
- Dialogs pop up in better locationing according to your screen display.
- Whitesmoke Halt's price in the shop was borked before; that's been fixed.
- Added the ability to check and see what version everyone's playing with by typing "!version" in the channel. You can still get this info by doing a CTCP version command or using the Datascope to check their stats, but this will get you a wider answer much quicker.
- Added in prevention from stage select abuse. Now when a stage is selected by you or anybody on the playing field, the button on the Datascope to select a stage will gray out and stay that way for five minutes.
- F3/Shift+F3 now works again in the Battered Building for moving up and down levels. In addition, they've been integrated with the idle timer, so moving levels works just like performing an action in that it resets the five minute auto-quit clock.
- Bone Echo wasn't working properly before. That's now fixed.
- Time delays on spell casting have been lessened. 1st Tier spells cast after only one second delay now instead of two. 2nd and first level 4th Tier cast after only two seconds instead of four, and 3rd Tier and second level 4th Tier cast after four instead of six.
- The Datascope once again shows the last spell you cast immediately after you cast it; a previous bug had the display blanking out.
- Things To Do
- 240 3rd Tier spells to be designed and coded
- 10 Wavebeasts to be designed and coded
- 14 songs to be composed
